Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the new congresswoman from New York who rocked the political establishment, is unmarried and has no husband. She is single.

Elise Stefanik – was just 30 years old when she took office.)

However, Ocasio-Cortez, a former bartender and organizer for Bernie Sanders, is in a relationship with a man named Riley Roberts, her college sweetheart who is by her side in Washington D.C. as she embarks on what has been a meteoric journey to height of American governance. Ocasio-Cortez, who was a political newcomer, toppled the political establishment when he defeated a veteran Democrat, New York Representative Joe Crowley, to take his seat in Congress. She is scheduled to appear in 60 minutes on the night of January 6, 2019.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was living with her partner, Riley Roberts, in an apartment in the Bronx, according to Vogue magazine. Vogue describes Roberts as a carefree redhead who works in web development and said the two lived together in a one-bedroom apartment.
She told Vogue that they met in a truly geeky way, in a weekly Friday afternoon conversation hosted by the dean of BU (Boston University). He later moved from Arizona to be with her. The Vogue author described an encounter with Roberts backstage at The Daily Show, where he casually cited tax rates in the 1950s.
Roberts was with Ocasio-Cortez for a mock oath at the US Capitol. A truly amazing, very special day, he told The New York Post , which reported that Roberts indicated he liked Washington D.C., quoting him as saying: It’s great. When questioned by the Post, Ocasio-Cortez declined to say whether she was giving up her paycheck to Congress during the partial government shutdown, which may speak to the couple’s humble beginnings. According to The Independent , Ocasio-Cortez didn’t have the money to rent an apartment in Washington D.C. until he started getting his salary in Congress.

I have three months without pay before I become a member of Congress. So how do I get an apartment? These little things are very real, she told The New York Times , saying that she had quit her job at a restaurant but saved up money. Ocasio-Cortez’s parents had two children.
According to the New York Post , Ocasio-Cortez was born to Puerto Rican parents who worked as an architect and janitor. His father passed away, but his mother, Blanca Ocasio-Cortez, works in Florida as a school secretary, the Post reported. She also has a brother named Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez. She worked as a waitress and bartender to help pay the bills, and the apartment she shares with Roberts is located in Parkchester, which is part of the Bronx. She graduated with a degree in economics and international relations from Boston University in 2011. This was his first candidacy for an elective office. She is also the founder of Brook Avenue Press, which publishes children’s books, according to Ballotpedia. The New York Times describes her as a democratic socialist.
Ocasio-Cortez is very close to her mother. In fact, she wrote a lengthy and moving tribute to her mother on social media, writing: What can I say that I don’t have to? So many people sacrificed so much to make this happen – my mother above all. She added: Mami scrubbed floors, drove school buses, + answered phones. She did everything she needed to do, for me. When my father died she was left as a single mother of 2 children and again she had to start over. After he passed away, we almost lost our house, so we sold it and started over. & about. & about. It wasn’t so long ago that our family’s hope was so dim it was barely an ember. The darkness taught me that transformation cannot just be an individual pursuit, but also a community trust.
A quick note to all of you.
May we never, ever give up.

Ocasio-Cortez’s 60 minute appearance was scheduled for 7pm. ET / PT on CBS. She told Anderson Cooper about the program that she believes Democrats have been too committed to Republicans, but also said she was open to making concessions in some cases, saying, I think so. I think — I think we compromised things that we shouldn’t have compromised, whether in the judgment of Mitch McConnell, or in the commitment to climate change. I think we–there are some things that we compromise a little too much. But am I open to compromise about certain ways of doing things? Absolutely. Absolutely.
