Prior to the Australian Open, the ace shuttler was knocked out in the first round of Indonesia Open, losing 21-15, 21-12 to Rajawat. He suffered an exit in the second round of the Singapore Open, going down to Julien Carriagi in 55 minutes in the Round of 16.
