Dave Logginsum cantor country e compositor que escreveu a música tema do torneio de golfe Masters, está morto.
Dave morreu na quarta-feira em Nashville… de acordo com um obituário em O Tennesseano.
A causa da morte não é clara, mas Dave estava sob cuidados paliativos quando faleceu.
Nascido e criado no Tennessee, Dave foi um dos compositores mais notáveis do estado… escrevendo sucessos para Dinheiro de Johnny, Toby KeithAlabama, Wynonna Judd, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Fumaça Robinson e Three Dog Night… entre outros.
Dave também escreveu a famosa música “Augusta”, tema do Masters… e tem sido um marco na transmissão da TV desde que ele a escreveu em 1981, tornando-se sinônimo da CBS Sports e Jim Nantz.
Em 1986, Dave se tornou o primeiro e único artista independente a ganhar um prêmio CMA… levando para casa o hardware para um dueto com Anne Murray“Ninguém me ama como você.”
Ele também teve um sucesso solo… “Please Come to Boston”… e sua carreira incluiu uma indicação ao Grammy, além de uma inclusão no Hall da Fama dos Compositores de Nashville.
Ele deixa três filhos e um neto.
Dave tinha 76 anos.
