Former India cricketer Amit Mishra has made a tall claim about fame and captaincy forcing Virat Kohli to change himself. Mishra, who played under the captaincy of King Kohli, claimed that the batting maestro has lesser friends in the team as he changes according to situation.

Further, he drew a parallel with current Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and went on to explain how the two were different in terms of their attitude.

‘Virat Kohli changed with fame and captaincy’

Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Mishra claimed that his relation with Kohli had taken a huge hit after the latter became the skipper. He further claimed that he had seen Virat since he was 14 years old and that while he was respectful previously, it wasn’t the case anymore.

I won’t lie. As a cricketer, I respect him a lot, but I don’t share the same equation with him as I used to. Why does Virat have less friends? His and Rohit’s natures are different,” Mishra claimed.

“I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those,” he added.

Who ended the feud between Gambhir and Kohli?

Mishra also dived into details of who took the first step to end the row between Gambhir and Kohli. The duo had a heated exchange on the field during IPL 2023 that prompted rumours of rift between the two. Mishra claimed that it was Gambhir and not Kohli who took the initiative to resolve differences between the two.

I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn’t go towards him, Gautam went towards him. He went and asked ‘How are you, how’s your family.’ So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli.”

“So Gautam showed his big heart at that time. It should have been Kohli who should have gone and ended the feud. He should have gone and said ‘Gauti bhai, let’s end this,’” Amit Mishra said.
